Hope everyone is having a good start to the 'new' year (altho I celebrate the new year on April 1st, it's a lot warmer to party!)

Again, computer problems! It got me so angry, I destroyed a laptop (and spooked my next door neighbor). I just trashed it, Office Space style. So again, had to get another computer, hard drive, and start all over again.

As much as I want RIOS to be out and about regularly, apparently I can't seem to get that green light from the universe. I'll publish my last issue of RIOS and try to figure out what to do for the future of KNM Online. Keep checking back!

More computer problems, but they're fixed. Finally got -Internet service so I can update the site regularly and fix pages that are apparently broken (computer malfunction, as usual).

Winter edition of RIOS will be available by December 1st. More content, and as usual concert and music reviews.

October 22, 2009
Sorry for the delay. Had a bad case of allergies.

RIOS is on sale. You can purchase it by going to the store. Enjoy!

October 19, 2009
RIOS is delayed for tomorrow. Going to install my new hard drive (came in today!) so no more working from crippled and patchwork systems!

October 15, 2009
Sorry for the lack of content, but computer problems got the best of me. I'm up and running now (hooray!).

My computer is fixed, patchwork style for now. My laptop hasn't come in yet (wondering what's taking them so long??? It's been a month!). Tryng to juggle KNM Online and my day job, but now I got the kinks worked out (and soon hope to make KNM Online my full time job!). Working on the Oct/Nov issue of RIOS. It should be out today, but because of my computers breaking down, it's frustrating having to keep rebuilding. I might just have bad feng shui or something! RIOS will be out October 19. Back issues will be up for sale.

ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS
I'm looking for music and zines to review. Anything and everything (if you've been keeping up with RIOS in its many incarnations) is just about accepted. Musically, my main focus is metal, punk, rock but I'll take a stab at jazz, country, rap, folk (just cos I love music so much!). Send your zines, tapes, CDs, MDs (Net MD or older only), DVDs, VCDs all to this address:

RIOS is on hold for now. Still having problems trying to format my new hard drive. Grr... I can't get the paper edition out because I need my computer to print out the master files! This makes me want to go back old school and just use a typewriter, cut and paste my layout...

Saw Fall Out Boy last night, but wasn't feeling well and left halfway thru their set, only to wait on the bus for an hour (and I could have finished the set!) Oh well. It was a very good show.

RIOS COMING SOON!
On MONDAY, AUGUST 17th:

  • The zine will be up for sale
  • The RIOS website will be posted online at rios.knmonline.net!

FIXING UP THOSE PESKY COMPUTER PROBLEMS
I've got a lot on my plate. After ordering my hard drive, I had my laptop crash again, and found out it's a mainboard problem (whew!). I got to order another laptop, boo. I haven't setup my main computer because it's a pentium and it doesn't recognize anything beyond 8.5GB (and I ordered a 30GB drive!).

Then I lose my Windows 98SE disc but my sister has Windows XP Pro and Home! But it's not going to do me any good on a computer that's so old. At least I have Windows 95 with USB, whoo hoo. I just got to get a boot disc.

    PROGRAMMING WOES
I FINALLY got my hands on Klik and Play for Macintosh. So happy! I have yet to test it because I couldn't get my laptop or set up my computer properly so I could use the flash drive to dump the files onto a zip disk. I dislike very much having to go all Dr. Frankenstein because of my old computers, but it's a hassle I have to put up with.

You're probably wondering, "Why bother with Klik and Play? It's so old!" It's just super fun goodness to mess about, that's all. But I can port my Klik and Play games to the Games Factory, refine them, and then sell my stuff, yay! Too bad there isn't a Games Factory version for Macintosh. I'm sure I can figure something out to patch up Klik and Play games to work for OS X for Macintosh. I think...

    WHAT AM I UP TO?
Right now, I'm just trying to figure how to slap a 30GB drive into a Pentium. I just need it to move files, but I may have to use FDISK to partion drives. That's a bummer. I can't do it now because the floppy drive died. Yes, it died! So now I got to find a computer from the dumpster. You think I'm paying for a new floppy? It's hard to find one now!! Unless I find one for cheap.

    RIOS NEWS
After a month of wrangling, I got my P O Box. It was annoying that I had to go thru hell to get it. At least the August/September issue will be out on time! It's due on the 17th instead of the 14th because of my recent computer problems.

    July 29, 2009
    MORE COMPUTER WOES!
My hard drive came in a few days ago, but I haven't gotten around loading it, nor work on my projects. A bit of depression. It's lifted now. I've commited to more exercise and trying to be more positive about things (still curse and smoke, oh well--silly to be still smoking when I'm trying to exercise).

Finally got my PO Box for KNM Online stuff (about time!!! Grr!!!) Going to the post office Saturday to pick up my keys and get my zines out the door. the June/July issues of RIOS will be available soon.

So now everything is in order--just wish there was a library open until 9pm instead of business hours. I would get internet, but as my computer was acting up, it's now my laptop. I'm sick of things breaking! But if companies were to build their stuff perfect, then there would be no more business.

    THOUGHTS ABOUT THE MAGAZINE
The August/September issue is up in the air. I haven't any ideas what to write, but cos it's all about 'back to school' in America, I might have a theme for that... lame, I know! I should come up with something cooler by print time (Aug 15).

    UPLOADING SOON
Altho this site looks a little dead, it's not. I'm just having computer problems. Soon, I'll be posting quite regularly.

    July 13, 2009
    COMPUTER WOES...
Still having computer issues (I have to buy a new hard drive! Grr!). Will have to wait until the 15th and then I can get RIOS magazine online as well as back issues.

I have a story idea, but because I'm not familiar with samuari (I find the culture so facinating!), I'm going to work on a computer movie (rather, a computer animation!). I'm using DreamStudio! for Dreamcast to render my stuff since I can't draw 3D quite yet (haven't figured out how to use POV-Ray or Genesis!)

Other than that, nothing much going on. Haven't worked on any computer games just yet... when I finally get my computer problems under control, I'll finally release some of the stuff I planned 3 months ago (yowza!).

I think I just have too many projects and not enough time, geez... Oh well!

    UPCOMING RELEASES

  • Vampirkat demos - my electro stuff for your enjoyment
  • Some games - just examples of my tinkering in The Games Factory, like Tetris and PacMan clones (at least you can play online!--just a small download to get it to work)
  • Short stories from some of my upcoming anthologies (at least you'll get something new instead of Unlucky Seventh and the 3000 Zombies!)
  • As for the shorts, they're only one dollar. I have only three formats to choose from: PDF, Text Only, and Palm Pilot Edition (Text Only). Whew! Make sure of your format when you purchase the shorts... don't want to think you downloaded the PDF and you have the text version! But it's still readable--I just don't like having to use typographic renderings in the text only as *bold* and _italic_. I use *bold* instead. Sometimes CAPS. I'll figure something out...

    WHAT'S GOING ON?
I had a computer crash (no more setting dates of when I'm going to upload!) so I'm waiting to get new equipment (boo!).

Yesterday, the greatest of musicians died. I really liked Michael Jackson's work, but my sister outright loved him. I wanted to surprise her on a trip to London to see him and even if we couldn't get in the gate (I heard it was sold out) we would have enjoyed it anyway just being there (I know, I should have bought the tickets early, but I was broke then--I'm rolling in dough now!). I would have paid scalpers, whatever. I really needed this vacation because things on the homefront has been crazy weird. But oh well... onto something else.

I'm working to get my paper version of RIOS out cos I love zines. I have a list of different zines I want to buy, but not a lot of people keep their master copies (unlike me, I keep records of everything! Issues to be featured are Dec/Jan, Feb/Mar, April/May. I'm working on the June/July issue but current computer woes are holding me back. I'm thinking of getting the electric typewriter and go nuts. Because I'm too far from a library now, and the current bus scheudles are goofy (stupid budget cuts--instead of it being a half hour to the college library, it takes an hour!), I recently purchased a personal copier (from the thrift store, no doubt! The best $10 I ever spent!). I never did a zine by hand before, I always did my typing and layout on the computer. I'll see how it looks.

I have so many projects going on, I wonder what the purpose of my site is. It's to feature everything, no doubt. I'll finally get it settled once and for all, after I get my laptop fixed and buy internet since I can finally afford it. No more renagade internet!

Importantly, I want to market my books. I forgot that I had took down Holding On to revise the cover! Grr! But now it's back up, original cover intact, and ready for purchase.

I use Lulu as my storefront, so you can create an account like on Amazon and buy things from independent artists, writers, and musicians. I really like Lulu!

    WHAT'S GOING ON?
I'm going to buckle down this weekend to get this site in working order. Come Monday, all I have to do is upload. (Older posts will be included, so don't think that I just post erratically--I upload erratically!)

I got a lot of things I want for KNM Online. It's more than just a blog, it's an internet experience! I want to put my mark on the world, and my creativity needs and outlet. I have games, music, books, movies, interactive multimedia-- just some interesting things that you can browse and purchase.

    5/21/2009
I got a tattoo for my birthday, but haven't told my mother yet (I know she'll freak out!) In case you're wondering, I'm old enough for a tattoo. I'm 25, OK?

Here's it is, all fresh. Be aware this is a full sized photo (600*480). I can't believe you can see my roommate's bedroom in this pic. At least it's not as messy as mine, heh.

    SKATEBOARDING FUN GOODNESS
I finally decided to conquer my fear and try to skateboard. I went a little down the street and then had my friend teach me a trick (haven't mastered that trick yet). I was happy.

    WHAT'S GOING ON?
No updates yet. I'll probably get that tetris clone done tonight and post for free, altho it's part of my Ultimate Brickmania 32! project. I also got to move my old stuff from the old website to KNM Online.

I haven't figured out what to make of KNM Online yet. Is it a blog? A site of ultimate fun goodness? Or madness? I think I bought this website so I can have an outlet of my creative energies. I have a lot of hobbies. Anything from retrogaming, to programming, to novels, poetry, etc...

Anyway, each week I will post something up to share (people like free stuff, me included!)

    Mood: avant-garde!

    BRAIN EXPLOSION
I watched 2 hrs of Wonder Showzen last night. It blew my mind… some episodes I haven’t seen before and it was gloriously sick and wicked and twisted. Pure awesomeness.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!! (until the 20th, anyway!)
Your lovely author will be older this year. She's getting a tattoo for her birthday. Why? Just cos.

ABOUT TIME SOMETHING IS ON THIS WEBSITE!
Altho this site was supposed to launched April 3rd, it just took a little while to get there.

    WHAT’S GOING ON?!?!
I welcome you to some free stuff, woot (coming Friday!)

  • Some experimental music
  • Some games
  • Some stories
  • Now spread the word!

I REALLY REALLY DISLIKE YAHOO SITEBUILDER. It takes away from the simplicity and pure awesome goodness that is HTML. I’m all for custom, woot, but if it’s simplicity I want, then I should be able to code for simplicity’s sake. Now is the time to grab a thesaurus and use it for simplicity's sake.

TODAY'S WORD OF THE DAY: Simplicity

    Every week, something new.
